Greetings,

So I just installed ObjectDock Plus V1.9 and I have found a couple issues. Here is a screenshot which will help to show you what I mean.

Ok so

1. Notice under the folder box I wrote that you can't see the folder on the dock. Its confusing because folders are represented by My Computer Icons and that can be quite the hassle. I think it should show a folder icon.

2. I am running Vista and if you go to add/remove programs and click on Objectdock and then click the uninstall button. Nothing happens. I had to go to the Program Folder and then use the UNWISE.EXE

3. Notice the Red square around the documents folder on my desktop. Whenever I load ObjectDock that empty folder shows up. If i delete it and reopen ObjectDock it readds the folder. I know its from object dock because if my computer is in the middle of a calculation it comes up with a box like its moving a file that says 'Objectdock........ to 'ObjectDock........

Can anyone Help out with these problems? Anything would be appreciated Thanks.

Attention Bug #4

While OBDV1.9 is running I cannot open Microsoft Outlook. It comes u with the following error message.

"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open Outlook window. The set of folders could not be opened. The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists."

How about saving themes under Vista? When I save a theme and apply it OD crashes.

Um, I can see TWO folders open in the dock...that little computer icon with a 2 over it? Or am I missing something?

If I'm right, you can turn off the stacking of folders/programs so that each one gets it's own icon in the general preferences I believe.

if that isn't a folder icon, there is also a setting, new to 1.9, where you can choose for OD to show (or not show) NON-minimized applications on the dock. So if you can see an icon on the dock when the app/window is minimized, but not when it is opened, look there and change that new setting.

MontyXP: we did see a problem with that on one of our test boxes. Good news is it's fixed Now that 1.9 is getting real exposure we're finding a few little things we missed an fixing them promptly

Also yeah Excalpius youre right... JukEboXCreaTionS: you have task grouping on. You'll want to go into the properties for that dock, choose "Dock Contents" and nearer the bottom turn off the option for "task grouping". Also, you can change the icon that displays for the window by right clicking and choosing "Select Image". Really on Vista it is supposed to use the folder icon for explorer windows, so you might want to try to reset the image first and see if that helps.

For the Documents folder...have you manually gone and deleted your "Documents" folder? ObjectDock does not recreate the link to it, but it does request the path of "Documents" on startup when its looking for if you have a library or not (it will try and create a library once, but if you delete it it won't come back unless you use dockzip's). During that process though I'd imagine that if you manually have deleted your documents folder...Windows would try and recreate it when I ask for its path. So I guess I'd check on that.

As for the Outlook problem, I've never heard of such a thing before. I highly highly doubt that that is actually ObjectDock however. The one thing you can do is this, try going into ObjectDock's settings and checking off some of the "temporarilly disable" boxes...specifically system tray and event-hooks. See if you can narrow it down to which one is causing the problem.

Best of luck,

Great news Jeff.

2 probable bugs:

- every time I try to use the Start Menu Launcher I get these two messages:

StartMenu helper file was injected but failed to take effect.
Can not show start menu at this time, please try again.

Object Dock was unable to find the start menu to show.
Can not show start menu at this time, please try again.

- When selected the Dock Entry Property in the menu, I get a crash.

I'm using Windows Vista Home Pro Edition, in spanish ... (I have the theory that using it in spanish may be the explanation re the first possible bug).

As mentioned before, the StartMenu problems arise also with XP MCE, see: https://forums.wincustomize.com/?forumid=176&aid=151225

No solution yet found.

I've moved this comment to another similar thread...

Don't know where to post a bug report as it seems that no Objectdock 1.9 Plus bug report thread is already open (or i did'nt found it ...) anyway, here's a weird thing that brings weird troubles:

Since last V 1.9 is out, i get 2 versions of any dock theme named: exemple, if i got previously a them called "MyTheme" there's one version saved in C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Themes called MyTheme.ini and as soon as i want it to be saved again another one with same name BUT with not necessarily the same contents is created in E:\Mes Documents\ObjectDock Library\Backed Up Themes (well in my case i've moved My Documents from partition C: to partition E: but i think it might be the same trouble if still in C: ...)

Should it be possible to fix it ?

(BTW, i still don't understand what's the use of X:\Mes Documents\ObjectDock Library\ ... ?   apart bringing troubles as mentioned )

In Vista when adding a new SysStats docklet you get a different default icon than in XP and when right clicking the default icon and loading the network.ini the default icon still shows.

ObjectDock 1.9 with a SysStats docklet crashes on start up for any Vista "Standard User". The login once as System Administrator XP work around does not work in Vista.

I am having this same error. Did you ever find a resolution for this?
